This website is operated by Sheet Sherlock (Pty) Ltd("we", "us", or "our"), trading as klaar. We are based in Komani, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

We are the responsible party for the processing of your personal information as described in this policy, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Email address — when you subscribe to updates via the homepage email form.
• Name, email address, and mobile number — when you place a pre-order and proceed to checkout.
• Delivery address — street address, suburb, city, province, and postal code within South Africa, so we can courier your order.
• Order details — products, sizes, colours, and quantities in your pre-order.
• Payment-related information — payment is processed by PayFast. We do not receive or store your card or banking details on our servers. PayFast may collect payment information in accordance with its own privacy policy.
• Technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and device information, which may be recorded in standard server logs when you visit the site.
• Cart information — items you add to your cart may be stored locally in your browser (local storage) on your device. This information is not sent to us unless you proceed to checkout.

3. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information when you:

• submit the email signup form on our website;
• complete the pre-order checkout form;
• pay for a pre-order via PayFast;
• contact us by email; or
• visit our website (through technical logs generated by our hosting provider).

4. Why we use your personal information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

• to send you email updates about product launches and news, where you have signed up;
• to process and fulfil pre-orders;
• to communicate with you about your order;
• to process payments through PayFast;
• to operate, secure, and improve our website; and
• to comply with legal obligations.

Our lawful grounds under POPIA include your consent (for marketing emails), performance of a contract or steps prior to entering a contract (for pre-orders), and our legitimate interests in operating a secure and functional online store.

5. Where we store your information

Email addresses from the homepage signup form are stored in Supabase, a cloud database service used to manage our subscriber list.

When you place a pre-order, your contact details, delivery address, mobile number, and order contents are stored in Supabase so we can fulfil your order. Payment is processed by PayFast. We do not receive or store your card or banking details.

Payment confirmation notifications from PayFast are used to mark your order as paid in our order records.

6. Who we share personal information with

We may share personal information with trusted service providers who assist us, including:

• PayFast — payment processing (PayFast privacy policy).
• Supabase — storage of email signups (Supabase privacy policy).
• Vercel — website hosting (Vercel privacy policy).

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a competent authority.

7. Cross-border processing

Some of our service providers may process personal information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, in line with POPIA requirements.

8. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

• Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
• Order-related information: for as long as needed to fulfil the pre-order, handle queries or returns, and meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Server logs: for a limited period as determined by our hosting provider.

9. Your rights under POPIA

Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you;
• request access to personal information we hold about you;
• request correction or deletion of personal information where appropriate;
• object to processing in certain circumstances;
• withdraw consent for marketing at any time; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed to deliver the site securely.

Your browser may store cart contents locally on your device so your pre-order basket persists between visits. You can clear this data through your browser settings.

12. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Children

Our products and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
